PENGUIN PRISON – ALL NIGHT LONG

Love a good cover… and anything Penguin Prison. Stoked for his live set atĀ Matte’s Full Moon Fest on Governors Island, August 8th.

ALT-J – HUNGER OF THE PINE

We weren’t sure what to expect from Alt-J after bassist Gwil Sainsbury bid the band farewell. But after hearing this I’m confident we’re going to be blown away with their next album. Literally every song on ‘An Awesome Wave’ got me going, and this is nothing short of that. With Miley Cyrus vocal sample, this song is pure sex. Can’t wait for September 22 for the full album release.

FALQO – FEEL YOUR LOVE

Gimme the disco and the funk. Alexander White of Falqo really revs it up with this one. He’s bass lines reminiscent with that of Jamiroquai and smooth vocals that make you wanna dance.

KLINGANDE – TROPICAL HOUSE VOL. 4

I know I’m not alone in loving tropical house especially as summer starts to heat up. I feel like I’m constantly looking for summer vibes to add to my beach playlists so this is just a nice convenient 50+ minutes of the good stuff.

I posted a Klingande song ‘Jubel’ a few weeks ago and that song is still running rampant in my head and frequenting my playlist. Whenever I play it someone asks what it is so its safe to say we can keep an eye on these guys. Klingande is a deep house duo from France consisting of Cedric Steinmuller and Edgar Catry. Heavily influenced by Swedish House Music, their name is the present participle of the Swedish verb ‘klinga‘ which means ‘to chime’ or ‘to sound.’

THE LUMINEERS – HO HEY (KASUAL 76 EDIT)

Throwback Thursday but a sweet remix. Kasual has some pretty rad deep house edits of songs we already love. Good poolside music for the summer.

POOLSIDE – STIR IT UP MIXTAPE

A perfect mixtape for a chill Friday afternoon, the calm before the storm.

DWNTWN – TIL TOMORROW

My morning shower anthem this week! DWNTWN killin it with this new single.

MINER – LOVELY

If your looking for this years new indie folk band Miner is it. Check out their latest album Into The Morning, every track is great.

PHARRELL ft. JAY-Z – FRONTIN’ (DISCLOSURE REWORK)

My mom asked me the other day where Pharrell came from and I had to remind her of this song and his N.E.R.D. days. And then Disclosure goes and does this. Mom’s gunna love it.

SOHN – LESSONS

Post gov ball depression and gloomy NYC weather calls for a song like this. Sohn will be at Music Hall of Williamsburg this fall.
